Spotify has launched a new way for artists and labels to submit music directly to the platform's editorial teams for playlist consideration, providing an easier path toward playlist features for all emerging musicians.

By opening up playlist submissions to everyone, Spotify has created a direct route for unsigned artists to grab a spot on the platform's official playlists. It doesn't guarantee you'll get featured, but it is a pretty simple process and if you release music on Spotify, it's well worth doing.

  • In this section, we’ll take a closer look at the steps to upload your podcast on Spotify. Let’s get started. Step 1 – Create Your Spotify Account. To begin with, you need to visit Spotify for Podcasters and click on “Get Started”. If you already have a Spotify account, you have to click on “Log In”.
  • Step 3 Convert Spotify music to DRM-free formats Now, you can personalize the destination folder by tapping the 'file' icon. Or you can just skip this step and touch the 'Convert' button to convert DRM Spotify music to unprotected audio files. Once done, you can locate Spotify downloads in the target folder you set before.

Operating System. My Question or Issue. I recently decided to try the new 'canvas ' feature for one of my songs. The problem is that I don't have the 'upload canvas' button when I log in to my Spotify.

How to submit music for Spotify playlists

Here’s how it works:

1. Log in or sign up to Spotify for Artists using a desktop computer. You’ll find your unreleased music within the 'Music' section of your artist dashboard under 'Upcoming'.
2. Choose the unreleased track you'd like to submit from this section of your dashboard.
3. If it’s an album or EP, choose one track to submit.
4. Complete the playlist submission form, giving as much information as possible about the track.

Before you go ahead and submit your music, here are a few important points to keep in mind if you want to give yourself the best chance of being considered and featured.

- Only unreleased tracks can be considered for playlists. That means you will need to distribute your music and then pitch them for playlisting between the time of delivery and your release date.
- You can only submit one track at a time. Only after that track has been released can you submit another unreleased song.
- You must submit at least 7 days before your release date. The more time in advance, the better, so be prepared.
- Offer as much info and insight into your music as possible. Spotify wants plenty of data to help them match your music to the right playlists. Editors will be searching for new music based on the data you provide, so make life easier for them and give yourself a better chance by including details on genre mood and anything else relevant to your track.
- You can only submit using a desktop computer. The form is not available on mobile.
- Spotify for Artist accounts can only be set up by artists who already have music on the platform. This, of course, means that you can’t use this submission process for your very first release.

TIP: Even if you don’t manage to secure inclusion on an editorial playlist with your submission, simply submitting your music through Spotify for Artists guarantees you’ll be placed on your follower’s Release Radar playlists when your music drops.

Spotify says you’re offline when connected to Internet? It is another unpleasant problem that you may find yourself dealing with. This is caused by Spotify servers not working correctly or the app detected by firewall software that doesn’t allow it to connect. In the case of server issues, there is not much you can do to fix it yourself. Spotify won't open on mac. I leave Radio on and now that it finally stops repeating the same song over and over, it disconnects. Everything else internet wise is ON - I have no connection problems. Spotify is not set to Offline mode. All I want is a streaming radio that plays music and stays on until I turn it off. That's what I'm paying for. If you don’t have an Internet connection, you can still run Spotify in Offline mode if you have a Premium account — you can still access tracks you mark as available in Offline mode. But what if you’re sure you have an Internet connection. On the Mac, the firewall is accessible in the Security section of your System Preferences. Add another device that supports Spotify or has the app (like a speaker or laptop). Connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network, and log in to Spotify. Listen out loud.

Hi there, it won't let me download the Spotify app, I have a Versa and it keeps saying to make sure the Fitbit app and versa are up to date. Checked this and they are but yet I cannot download the Spotify app! Any suggestions? Moderator edit: updated subject for clarity. I have Premium (Just got it) but I can't download on my phone. Can someone please help me? This is literally THE reason why I chose to opt for Premium. Here is the order ID if this helps at all. If that didn't work, please let me know and I'll figure out something else to try. It just started in the last 2 days-up until then, I could go on the website, and I could access Spotify from my Firestick. I can load the Spotify app on my computer and smartphone. I've unplugged and plugged in. Same problem, the 'login with facebook' option disappeared with the new update and it won't allow the username and password for the account to be used. The ONLY other option is streaming, which is not only NOT ideal but defeats the purpose of having the app on the firestick. If I'm booting it up on my phone, I'll listen there. Firestick won't let me download spotify premium.

Spotify opening up playlist submission to all is a great way to give all rising artists a better chance of landing on major official Spotify playlists. https://mostlucky1.netlify.app/bmw-spotify-app-problems.html.

But remember, there's a lot of competition out there. Even though Spotify features around 75,000 artists on their playlists each week, there are still many more who miss out.
